NAVO – Chinese adventure and specialty travel agency organized the adventure tourism in China since 1993.
In 2007, NAVO started accepting foreign young students’ adventure tour in China, the first group from the UK; the teams members’ age are between the ages of 14 to 18.
Mainly in 2007, we organized students in Sichuan Province associated with the project: climbing, hiking, school volunteers, giant pandas and other volunteers
In 2008, we improved the organization as well as the type of products in other china provinces, such as Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, promotion, combined with trek, volunteer, rural experience, students challenge project and other projects.
In 2009, we run the Kham Tibetan area 5 days trek in Sichuan, and it’s the safe operation of three years; in the same year, NAVO successful operation of the first winter student adventure team in Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lijiang, Yunnan province. We make some new projects in Guilin, Guangxi, Yunnan, Lijiang, rural schools.
In 2010, 4-year safety and accident-free operation in Sichuan Kham area and successfully operate the Mt. Minya Konka 7 days trekking. NAVO added some more new projects in primary schools, rural schools in Sichuan.
In 2011, NAVO organized the new ecological rural experience project in Chengdu based on the previous volunteer project.
In 2017, NAVO added the project which named “Chinese Students Traveling with Foreign Students”, allowing Chinese students to join in the foreign students team, live together, study together and work together, aimed to let foreign students understand the real situation of Chinese youth.
In 2017, NAVO organized 21 student teams, which is by far the largest number of foreign student teams organized by us.
During the period of 2007-2019, NAVO organized a total of 116 teams of student tourism expedition with more than 2,000 students: they were organized by student travel agencies from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, established cooperative relationship with NAVO, and organized various student outdoor travel, student exploration, student trekking, minority village experience project, giant panda volunteer project, rural investigation in China, exchange activities between Chinese students and international students, etc.
Below are some items we provide:
A: Trekking Tour Project
In 2007, Trekking area is mainly in Sichuan Kham area. According to different constitutions, NAVO designed different levels of trekking itineraries: 3 days, 5 days and 7 days trekking tour. The students will pass through the forests, grasslands, cross over the 5,000-meter snow-capped mountains during the trekking. Through this kind of challenge tourism, they can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery, but also get close to the magic of nature.
In 2008, Trekking area is mainly in Guangxi Province. Navo provide 5 days and 7 days trekking. Students can get to know more about the China Minority Culture and life style through the trekking and also can enjoy the gorgeous terrace along the way.
In 2009, Trekking period is divided into summer team and winter team. For summer team, it mainly ran in Sichuan Kham Tibetan area. For the winter team, it mainly ran in Yunnan Li Jiang Wenhai & Tiger leaping Gorge – the Yulong Snow Mountain – 5 days Tiger Leaping Gorge trekking. Via the original Naxi village, surrounded by the Yulong Snow Mountain, wenhai grasslands, and Lijiang, Tiger Leaping Gorge is absolute highlights. Through this trekking, students can experience the local culture and living conditions of residents, and also enjoy the thrills of the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
In 2010, Trekking period is divided into summer and autumn, summer and autumn team mainly ran in the Sichuan Kham area. The new trekking is 7 days in Mt. Minya Konka, grasslands, horse riding across the river and two high altitude Pass; it’s a big challenge of both physical strength and willpower to exercise to the students.
2011, Mainly summer expedition was the Tagong grasslands 5 days trekking and Minya Konka 7 days trekking. As there has the Sichuan Kham Horse racing festival in the summer. The traditional Tibetan festivals brings a new experience for the challengers to know more about the Tibetan area, they can not only see it but also can participate in the traditional Tibetan cultural activities, easily enjoy the fun of cultural exchange
B: Panda Base Volunteer Project
NAVO has organized the students as volunteers in the Sichuan Wolong Panda Base since 2007（ Now in Ya’an which is 127KM from Chengdu Chengdu Panda Base）. Under the help of the local administrators, they can practice some daily work in the Panda base such as feeding the pandas, cleaning the pandas’ rooms. They can also have an intimate contact with the pandas.
C: Minority Village Life Experience
NAVO has organized the students go to minorities village in Sichuan Tibetan village to experience about 3-7 days, they can close to the real and local life there. Through this experience, they can have a better understanding of local customs and culture.
The village life experience in Yunnan province is aimed to experience the real situation of Chinese villages and close to the local people and the way they live.
D: School - the cultural exchanges between students
We carried out the Kham Tibetan area in Sichuan, Xian, Guilin, Lijiang, Chengdu, and other places in the outskirts of the village primary schools project volunteers and life experience.
Some students live in the local the local schools, and local children to eat together, stay together, through such students in daily life. Through some simple language to teach each other, communicate, play games together. In this way children can learn more about each other’s lifestyle and habits.
E: Ecological cultural experience in rural project
In 2011, NAVO added a new eco-agricultural tourism project in Sichuan. This rural areas ecological experience can help team learn more about ecological knowledge in rural areas. From the project to know China’s new rural development, and can be well integrated into local life in rural areas a full range of eco-cultural experience
Our Expectation
We hope to work together with more overseas Youth origination to continue to develop more suitable project in China for foreign students.Hope NAVO with the help of young people abroad, more students can go outdoors, close to nature, to understand China and understand China’s ethnic minority customs, and get to know more about China’s customs of ethnic minorities and culture.
